#SCRIBBLESUPPORT
The act of practicing art has done a lot for me;
and ScribbleSupport is my attempt to share that help with others.
So, it is the goal of #ScribbleSupport to help you defeat the idea that you can't do art.
Art is a skill just like any other,
of course you're going to suck at first;
you only get better by doing it.
Anyone can do art, you just need to start.
But start where?
I struggled with that question at first. I was ready to work, accepted that I would of course be bad at it in the beginning, I need to start drawing things so I can get better, but
what motivates me to start drawing?
This is ScribbleSupport:
A collection of activities that hopefully you find motivating to attempt, and help alleviate the pressure of conceptualizing something to practice from scratch. Anything that can provide that initial spark of inspiration and hopefully set you on a path forward.
PROMPTS
This is where I started.
I find prompts are a great fall-back for helping you get an idea when nothing immediately comes to mind. Here are just a few places to find some!
Character Creators
Loads of these!
Made a cool character in a videogame? Draw them!
Or help your design process along by using things like...
Social Media memes
If you follow a bunch of artists on social media,
I'm sure you'll come across some of these.
I like to repost and participate in these as I find them on Bluesky!
Some fun styles of this sort of activity I've found so far:
Character Bingo
Draw your character in this outfit
Draw this OC in your style
Artfight
Artfight is a yearly, gamified art-trade event that happens every summer!
A theme with two opposing sides is chosen, users create a profile of at least one OC, and join one of these two sides.
You earn points for your side by "attacking" people (drawing their OCs) and then that user is prompted to "defend" themself by drawing one of your OCs back!
I think it's a really cute idea to encourage meeting new people and drawing each other fanart. I've been participating since 2020!
here's my profile
And be on the lookout on social media around June or July for your favorite artists posting their profiles!
